Against the increasing number of constructions happening in the country, the construction industry has been slow in adopting new technologies. So in an attempt to create awareness on the latest quality, efficient products and technologies for the construction sector, Bhutan Construction Fair began in Thimphu today.

The Construction Association of Bhutan (CAB) in collaboration with the Construction Development Board (CDB) is organizing the four-day event.

The fair will create a meaningful forum for the development and promotion of the construction industry. It will provide an opportunity for both the suppliers and consumers to showcase new technologies, exchange ideas and encourage business to business meetings.

“Construction fair is something that is very vital for the construction industry to introduce new materials with quality, materials with environmental friendly usage and also the cost. Once you know that there are so many materials of similar specifications, we get the price advantage and it’s good for the public,” Wangdi Gyeltshen, the General Secretary of CAB, said.

This year, more local dealers are participating in the fair taking an opportunity to showcase their latest products and technologies. Construction fair of this kind will be helpful in kindling and motivating the spirit of building quality infrastructure considering the explosion of constructions in Bhutan.
