The Prime Minister Doctor Lotay Tshering arrived in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, this morning. He was received by the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. The Prime Minister was presented with the Guard of Honour.

Later, while visiting the National Martyrs’ Memorial, Lyonchhen laid a wreath and planted a tree sapling.

Earlier on Friday Meet session, the Prime Minister said seeking help from the Bangladeshi government for health specialists will be one of his top priorities during this visit.

“With many mid level specialists in Bangladesh, we will try to seek help through our bilateral relation.” He explained, “It would be difficult to get Bangladeshi specialists working in Bhutan for the monetary incentives the Bhutanese government would be offering.”

Lyonchhen is on a four-day official visit to Bangladesh upon the invitation of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina. The foreign minister, health minister, senior government officials and private sector representatives are accompanying Prime Minister Dr Lotay Tshering.
