A five-year-old boy drowned in Mangdechhu at Bjeezam in Trongsa yesterday. Bjeezam is about seven kilometres from Trongsa towards Wangdue Phodrang.
His body was washed around 100 meters downstream from the place of the incident.
The boy with his three-year-old brother and a friend was playing near the river when the incident occurred. No foul play was suspected.
The body of the deceased was handed over to his parents.
