Three Japanese grant assistance projects worth 24 M Yen signed

The grant contracts for three Japanese Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) worth 24 M Yen, was signed at the Embassy of Japan in New Delhi yesterday.

The contracts were signed between Ambassador of Bhutan to Japan, Major General Vetsop Namgyel and Ambassador of Japan to Bhutan, Kenji Hiramatsu.

The grant assistance projects are the provision of patrol cars to community police centres in Trongsa and Monggar worth 7.8 M Yen, improvement of an all-weather farm road in Guma Gewog of Punakha worth 7.2 M Yen.

The third grant assistant project of 9 M Yen is for LhakSam for the establishment of Centre of Genekha District for Community Based Care (C4CBC) for people living with HIV/AIDS in Thimphu.

At the signing, Ambassador Hiramatsu said Japan would continue contributing towards the economic development of Bhutan by meeting various needs of the country.
