Residents in Samdrup Jongkhar can look forward to free rides on the first day of the 5th Royal Bhutan Flower exhibition, which will start on February 21 coinciding with His Majesty The King’s birthday.

About 40 taxis will be providing free taxi rides to the people travelling between Dewathang and Samdrup Jongkhar. They will also provide free rides within the town areas.

“All organisations like government, private, corporation, armed forces and students have been involved in the preparation of the exhibition. So we decided we will also provide free taxi services for those interested to come for the event,” Kesang Jigme, one of the taxi drivers, said.

“On His Majesty’s birthday, we have decided to provide free taxi services to those people who want to come for the flower exhibition,” Tashi Tshewang, another taxi drivers, said.

The 5th Royal Bhutan Flower exhibition, which will open on February 21 will end on 27.
