A fire destroyed a labour camp, a 200KVA diesel generator room and storeroom of a construction company of Mangdechhu hydro project at Samcholing in Trongsa yesterday afternoon.
Seven labourers were staying in the camp made of CGI sheets and cement flooring. Fire fighting teams of Trongsa Police and MHPA helped contained the fire.
According to the police, the construction materials worth Nu 500,000 of the company, the generator worth Nu 1.2 M and Nu 10,000 of three labourers were lost in the fire. Also, the belongings of the workers were damaged by the fire.
Police suspect electrical short circuit as the cause of the fire.
