The Thimphu District Court has sentenced a 28-year-old man from Dagana to ten years in prison for rape.
He was convicted of rape of a child above 12 years of age. The court passed the judgement last Wednesday.
The man, who is a trucker, raped a 15-year-old girl in Changzamtog, Thimphu in October 2017.
He had also attempted to rape an 11-year-old girl twice in December 2017. The incidents took place in Thimphu.
