The Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and 10 sector associations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) towards holistic private sector development today.

The MoU is to formalize the cooperation between BCCI and the sector associations. According to the BCCI, at present all the private sectors work separately resulting in uneven development.

“It is our job to ensure that there is holistic development in the private sector. Therefore we thought that it is important that we bring all the associations in the private sector together to understand each others’ work,” Sangay Dorji, the Secretary-General of BCCI, said.

“We as an apex body wants to ensure whatever interventions that are taking place in private sector development are happening on an equitable basis for all the sectors in the private sector.”

BCCI and the associations will meet every three months to discuss issues and ways to bring uniform development in the private sector.
