More than 100 foreign institutes take part in the Fair

The 2nd Bhutan International Education Fair began in the capital today. The two-day Fair this year attracted more than 100 educational institutes from across Australia, Bhutan, India, Japan, Malaysia, Mauritius and Thailand.

The Fair aims to give the students and parents a choice of institutes and bring the highest standards in education system.

The Fair was organised by the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Textile exhibition underway

Meanwhile, The annual textile exhibition opened at the Textile Museum in Thimphu from yesterday. The theme this year is ‘Woven, Cut and Stitched’.

Her Majesty the Queen Mother, Sangay Choden Wangchuck graced the opening.

The exhibition showcase a wide variety of Kiras and Ghos and an array of throne and seat covers featuring the workmanship of Embroidery and Appliqué.

The exhibition aims to capture the interest of and respond to the needs of public by presenting the Museum’s finest collection of its sorts. It also presents the country’s unique traditional textile art to visitors and tourists.
