Police in Jomotshangkha under Samdrup Jongkhar arrested two men in connection with illicit trafficking of 83 kilograms of dried marijuana on 31 October.
The pair was arrested from Jampani, about three kilometers away from Jomotshangkha towards Serthig Gewog.
Police found them stashing marijuana in a bolero pickup truck during the arrest. Police added the suspects allegedly buy marijuana from the villagers and sell them across the border.
Illicit trafficking of marijuana is one of the key sources of income for villagers of Serthig Gewog, say sources.
