Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongkhag Election Dispute Settlement Body (DEDSB) fined a minimum daily wage of Nu 3,750 each to three individuals for spreading rumours about Druk Phuensum Tshogpa.

The DPT’s Dewathang_Gomdar Constituency candidate Ugyen Dorji had filed a complaint against three individuals for urging people not to vote for DPT because the Indian government would not be happy if the party comes to power in a WeChat group.

The complaint was filed on October 3.

The DEDSB also warned the three individuals not to spread rumours and refrain from commenting on sensitive issues during the election period.

They have to pay the fine within five days from the date of the decision.
