Trongsa district hospital is expected to receive a new Complete Blood Count (CBC) machine in a week’s time.

The hospital has been without a CBC machine after the old one broke down in August last year.

The hospital has since been referring people requiring complete blood count test to Thimphu or other nearby hospitals.

The hospital says it sees around seven such patients every day.

“We mostly receive cancer follow up and anaemic cases,” Dr Wangdi Norbu, the Chief Medical Officer of Trongsa hospital, said.

At least two to three patients are referred to other hospitals.
