The Health Ministry denied the allegations that the cause of the death of 22-year-old heart patient was because of lack of anticoagulants or INR reagents. According to the findings made by the Ministry, she was reviewed on 20th February, though there was no INR reagent, she was completely normal. On March 6, she reported to Kanglung BHU with cough, chest pain and breathlessness for 2 days.

Dr. Ugen Dophu, Director of Medical Services, agreed that there was no reagent in the laboratory. “But, of course we have plenty in the country; JDWNRH has plenty of stock of that.”

He said that it had not reached Monggar on time due to some reasons.

“As per her signs and symptoms checked by the Doctor at Kanglung and in consultation with the medical specialist in Monggar, they do not attribute her death directly to because there was no reagent for checking her blood.

“She has died of heart failure because all the three major valves are defective and valve replacement operation was done four years ago and now all this replaced valves, plus another valve, the functioning has become very defective. And it has affected her heart and that lead to the failure.”
