The auspicious hour to take bath to cleanse off bad deeds, obstructions and defilements, and accumulated bad karma starts at 10:25 AM tomorrow, say the astrologers from Pangrizampa College of Astrology in Thimphu.

“Unlike the usual bathing, the bathing during Thruebab is very auspicious. From Buddhism perspective, it is said that all the natural water resources will be sanctified on Thruebab Day. So taking shower will cleanse off sins, defilements and bad karma,” Phurba Dorji, Teacher of College of Astrology in Pangrizampa, said.

Thrue also marks the end of the monsoon and farming season and the beginning of the harvest season. Recognising the significance of the Blessed Rainy Day, the government declared the day as a national holiday since 1980s.
