Team Charo United won the first-ever Pejong Tenzin Tshogpa Open Football Tournament organised in Bumthang.
In the finals played yesterday, they defeated team Jakar FC on penalties after a scoreless draw.
Nine teams from Bumthang and Trongsa participated in the tournament. The winner and runners-up teams were awarded trophies along with cash prizes. The tournament will be organised annually hereafter.
The organiser- Pejong Tenzin Tshogpa is a group of former monks of Kharchu Dratshang in Bumthang who raises funds for religious activities by organising such tournaments.
