His Majesty The King granted an audience to participants of the 10th Leadership Training Programme (LTP) for scouts yesterday.

The scout leadership training has 62 boys and 63 girls participants, who are class 12 students selected from schools all over Bhutan.

The participants are all members of scouts and are nominated by their respective schools and selected by Dzongkhag or thromde committees.

The participants are selected based on their excellence in various areas including academic excellence.

Every year, scholarships are awarded to five exceptional participants who have completed class 12.

Similar camp is held in winter for class 10 students.

The camp was initiated in 2013 upon the Royal Command of His Majesty The King, and held at Tencholing in collaboration with the Department of Youth and Sports under the Ministry of Education.
