The three-day forest fire at Kalapang in Monggar was finally brought under control yesterday evening.
The fire, which started on Sunday, has destroyed over 270 acres of forests.
About eighty firefighters, including locals, forestry officials, DeSuups, police, and Kurichhu Hydropower Project’s fire and rescue team battled the fire.
No causalities and damage to properties were reported.
The cause of the fire is not known.
