The venerable Tshugla Lopen of Zhung Dratshang is presiding over the Jigten Wangchuk Dungdrup-a prayer ceremony in Trashigang.
Over 400 monks from shedras, goendeys, lhakhangs and rabdey are performing the prayer ceremony. According to the organisers, the religious ceremony is being held to pay tribute and homage to Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel and commemorate his 432rd birth anniversary.
A large number of devotees from Trashigang and nearby places has congregated at the prayer ceremony. The three-day long dungdrup began yesterday and is being organised by Jigten Wangchuk Tshogpa.
