Bhutan Film Association (BFA) has decided to revoke the award for the best screen play of the Bhutanese movie “Drukdra Lingpai Tashi”. Screenplay writer Gyem Dorji, who bagged the best screenplay, will have to surrender the award to the Bhutan Film Association, according to a letter issued by the association yesterday.
Officials said the award has been revoked based on the confirmation that the screen play has been copied from a foreign film “Tess of the d’Urbervilles”. The action comes after a script writer lodged a complaint to the Film Association.
