PM meets Special Envoy of Kazakhstan

PM meets Special Envoy of KazakhstanThe Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay met with Askar Mussinov, Special Envoy of the President of Kazakhstan and Dy. Minister of Foreign Affairs who was accompanied by the Ambassador of Kazakhstan at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang, this morning.

The two leaders shared similar sentiments on commonalities connecting Bhutan and Kazakhstan and agreed that the two countries had a lot of potential in collaborating in mutual areas of interest.

Askar Mussinov informed Lyonchhen on the recent developments taking place in Kazakhstan, particularly in the area of renewable energy. Lyonchhen commended the former’s leadership for taking the future of the world seriously by investing in green and alternative sources of energy. Lyonchhen also praised Kazakhstan for developing and implementing the Almaty Programme of Action (2003), a landmark document that placed the agenda and priorities of landlocked countries.

The Special Envoy said that he was impressed with the way Bhutanese people coexisted in harmony with the nature. He said that Bhutan’s contribution to the world, in terms of its environmental conservation, was noble and exemplary.
