His Eminence Sogyal Rimpoche graces Friday ForumHis Eminence Sogyal Rinpoche graced the 10th Friday Forum at the Royal Institute for Governance and Strategic Studies in Phuentshogling, yesterday. Rinpoche said, to become a good leader, the foremost aspect is to tame one’s mind through meditation practices. Meditation, Rinpoche said, stabilises the mind freeing if from ego and its grasping tendencies. It also broadens one’s perspective. Rinpoche also highlighted on the importance of compassion as one of the qualities of a good leader.

Sogyal Rinpoche is a renowned Buddhist teacher from Tibet and the author of the highly acclaimed The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying.

The talk is a part of the four-week Senior Executive Leadership Programme underway at the Institute. The programme is mainly for senior public service officials and corporate executives aimed to honing their leadership skills and expose them to real-life policy issues facing the country.

The economic affairs Minister and other senior government officials also took part in the discourse.
