A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed, yesterday, to recruit more Bhutanese job seekers in private companies.
It was signed between the labour minister, Ngeema Sangay Tshempo, and Chairman of S.D Eastern Bhutan Ferro Silicon, Sonam Drukpa. Sonam Drukpa also owns S.D eastern Bhutan Coal Company.
The MoU says the company will hire only Bhutanese and that they will have foreign recruits only when the need is absolute.
The Ministry of Labor and Human Resources will be signing similar MoU with Druk Satair Corporation, Druk Plaster and Chemical Limited, and Dungsum Cement Corporation, among others.
