The Bhutan Archery Federation (BAF) is in the process of choosing two women archers to represent Bhutan at the international competitions. They will be chosen from within the age group of 16-23, from the ongoing Winter Coaching Camp.
The General Secretary of Bhutan Archery Federation, Tsewang Rinchen, said archery has always been considered male-dominated sport. “This is a good opportunity for us to slowly reverse that concept and begin to have more women participation.”
The coaching camp will also be held in Kanglung, Gelephu and Thimphu, which is scheduled to start from January next year.
This is first coaching camp for women archers.
