Members at the Dzongkhag Tshogdu in Paro expressed concerns when a few relevant government officials did not turn up for the discussions. A solution was however identified and now those absent in the future meetings will be charged fines.
Gups and Mangmis from the 10 gewogs of Paro put forward the problems of the people at the Dzongkhag Tshogdu yesterday.
But after a few discussions had no relevant official to address them, members expressed disappointment.

The Tshogdu’s Chairman, Phub Tshering, says when there are no representative from relevant agencies, coming up with solutions becomes hard.
But the chairman has no authority to ensure their presence or punish those absent.
Phub Tshering says imposing fines will ensure everyone’s presence resulting in a more productive meeting.
