A student of Wangdue Phodrang, who was hit by an arrow, was discharged today after he was found to be in a stable condition. An arrow had hit the student in his temple region when he was watching a traditional bow and arrow match, yesterday afternoon.

The incident had occurred in Punakha when students from Gaselo were playing the final match against Punakha Higher Secondary School as part of Inter-school sports meet.

An education official in Punakha said even though the victim was about six meters away from target the arrow had hit him.

The arrow was removed in Punakha hospital.

Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man, who was hit by a stray arrow on Tuesday in Lunana, has been airlifted to Thimphu this morning.
