A lecturer and a lab assistant of College of Science and Technology (CST) in Phuentshogling died after the roof of a cave they were digging in collapsed in Gedu. They, along with a group of students from the college, had come to the site to collect clay for making stupa back in their college.
The students were outside the cave loading the clay onto a bolero car when the incident occurred.
According to the police, the incident occurred at around 12.30 yesterday afternoon at about two kilometres away from Gedu College of Business Studies.
The police say while the lecturer died on the spot, the lab assistant died on the way to the hospital.
Both the deceased are survived by wife and two children.
