The first sitting of the second parliament concluded today. His Majesty the King graced the closing ceremony. Parliamentarians gathered around the golden throne and offered Tashi Moenlam for the health and long life of His Majesty the King, the security and sovereignty of the country, and peace and prosperity for the people.
Meanwhile, the two week long session of the parliament saw endorsement of the 11th Five Year Plan and the annual budget. They also discussed on Tenancy Act 2004, RTI bill and annual reports of Audit and Anti-Corruption Commission.
The session also saw amending and reviewing of the National Assembly, National Council and Local Government Acts to streamline the resignation of elected members.
