Yeedzin-(5-2)-Mohun-Bagan.In what was described as a scintillating match, Yeedzin FC came from behind to book a berth in the semi-finals of the King’s Cup against Mohun Bagan AC, this evening. They shot home 5 goals against 2 by their opponent.

Crowds rivaling the attendance during Baichung Bhutia’s matches gathered at Changlimithang, cheering and jeering as Yeedzin began outshining the young Mohun Bagans towards the last quarter of the match.

In the first half, Yeedzin was leading by a goal (14. Sonam Yoezer) and it looked like anybody’s game, as equal chances were created by both the teams.

Mohun Bagan scored two quick goals in the second half (47. Jugal Das; 58. Gorachand Marndi) creating pressure and causing some Yeedzin players to squabble among themselves as they missed some sure goals.

Yeedzin returned stronger a few minutes later as they equalised (77. Sonam Yoezer). Yeedzin needed only a draw to go through to the semi-finals.

Sonam Yoezer, scored a hat-trick today (79. Sonam Yoezer), becoming the first player of the tournament to achieve that feat.

Yeedzin will now face Nepal’s Three Star FC in the semi-finals.

In the semi-final, on Wednesday, United Sikkim from India will take on Manang FC from Nepal while on Thursday,  Three Star from Nepal will meet Yeedzin FC from Bhutan.
