Chirang-ASSAMThe Regional Manager of the Natural Resources Development Corporation limited in Samdrup Jongkhar and his driver have gone missing since yesterday evening. The office hilux they were travelling in was found abandoned in a forest in Assam, some 19 kilometres from Gelephu by the police of Chirang District in Assam, India.

The matter was reported to the Gelephu police.  The men were on their way to Gelephu from Samdrup Jongkhar, when the incident took place. According to the police there was no damage or sign of forced entry visible on the abandoned vehicle. The two men had started their journey from Samdrup Jongkhar at around 11:30 am yesterday morning. Police suspect that the incident could have happened between 5 and 6:30 pm.

Meanwhile, the Indian police are searching for the missing men and the hilux has been kept with the Indian police as evidence to be produced in the court.
