Speaker resigns from DPT

Former National Assembly Speaker, Jigme Tshultim

The former National Assembly Speaker, Jigme Tshultim, submitted his resignation as a candidate of Druk Phuensum Tshogpa from Radhi-Sagteng constituency in Trashigang, yesterday.

At DPT’s executive committee meeting, today, the party’s former Kabisa-Talog representative Tshering Penjor also submitted his resignation.

Chang Ugyen, the party’s deputy Vice President has also resigned.

DPT will be holding its National Convention, tomorrow. The convention will see the election of the party President, Vice President, and other office-bearers.

    This expected long time, had DPT done this when it was fresh people wouldn’t lost faith in DPT…. I GUESS its too late too little now… NC results show Bhutanese can be very unforgiving…

    I don’t think DPT as a party paid anything to make MP Tshering Penjor and Jigme Tshultrim to resign when they are already having problem with financial issues.

    So good changes and should come up with more changes.
