Bhutan establishes diplomatic relations with Oman

Bhutan-OmanBhutan has established a diplomatic relations with the Sultanate of Oman. The Joint Communiqué on the establishment of relations was signed between Lhatu Wangchuk, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Bhutan to the United Nations, and Lyutha Bint, Sultan Al-Mughairy, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Oman to the United Nations.

The Communiqué was signed at the Permanent Mission of Oman in New York.

A release from the foreign ministry says the two ambassadors expressed the interest of their governments to cooperate closely in the bilateral and multilateral fields.

The two ambassadors also discussed possibility for exchange of bilateral visits between the two countries.

Oman is the 52nd country with which Bhutan has established diplomatic relations.
