The Punakha District Court has sentenced a 27-year-old man from Trashi Yangtse to more than six years in prison for illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. The Court passed the judgment last week.
According to the judgment, the convict was arrested by the police during a highway check in Punakha’s Barp Gewog in February this year. He was caught with more than 1200 Spasmo Proxyvon (SP) plus capsules. However, the convict can appeal to the High Court within ten working days.
