Besides the will to engage in meaningful service, most people contest any position in any kind of service including the local government for the perks that come with the position. However, a few do it out of pure goodwill without much desire for the privileges. One such an individual is Kabisa Gup Sonam Dorji from Punakha who is also the Chairperson of the Dzongkhag Tshogdu. He has decided not to accept allowances or other benefits of his position except for the monthly salary.
