A group of 34 tourists will arrive in the country on Saturday. This is the first large group of tourists visiting the country after more than two years. The group will have to undergo a 14-day facility quarantine since the new five-day quarantine guideline will come into effect only from next week, on April 4.

Bhutan suspended the entry of tourists after detecting its first coronavirus case in March 2020. Although tourists were allowed later with the mandatory 21-day facility quarantine, Bhutan saw only one tourist last year.
