Upon Royal Command of His Majesty The King, a thousand butter lamps and prayers were offered at the Semtokha Dzong today for the late president of the University of Texas in the US. The foreign minister, senior government officials and former Bhutanese Students of the university attended the service.

The late president, Dr Diana Natalicio, passed away on Friday. She was 82 years old.  As an inspirational and visionary leader who worked for the cause of higher education, she touched the hearts and lives of many Bhutanese students. She was a close friend of Bhutan.
