Supreme Court Justice Kuenlay Tshering appealed to the High Court yesterday. Last month, the district court sentenced him to five years in prison for abetting mutiny in the criminal conspiracy case.

Three others involved in the case were also sentenced for commissioning of criminal conspiracy, mutiny, abetting mutiny and other criminal offences. They had planned to overthrow the army’s Chief Operations Officer, Lieutenant General Batoo Tshering. The ten days appeal period ends this week.
