Mangdechhu Hydroelectric Project Authority (MHPA) will be receiving the Brunei Medal for 2020 in October in London.
The Institution of Civil Engineers of the United Kingdom awards the medal in recognition of excellence in civil engineering and valuable service or achievement, rendered to or within the civil engineering industry.
Since its commissioning in June last year, all the four units of the 720 MW power project are running at 10 percent additional capacity and MHPA is expected to earn more than the projected target in the years to come.
MHPA is a joint hydropower project of Bhutan and India.
