The road leading to Dorokha Drungkhag is finally open after several days of blockage. Workers managed to clear the debris by mid-day, today. The road was blocked at about 20 locations along the Halhaley – Dorokha stretch.

Halhaley is the tri-junction between Samtse, Dorokha, and Phuentshogling. However, roads leading to the four gewog centres in the Drungkhag haven’t been cleared yet. Two excavators have been deployed for the same, today.

Mobile and Internet connectivity, which was disrupted due to continuous rainfall, has been restored since yesterday.

Lhamoidzingkha Dungkhag is still cut off from other districts. It has been four days since the heavy rainfall has swollen the Kalikhola river cutting off road connection to Phuentsholing via India. The lateral road from Gedu towards Lhamoidzingkha is blocked in several locations. With the weather improving, works for clearing the blocks began for today.
