Govt. to meet with political parties twice a year

The government will be meeting with all the political parties twice a year to include them in a discussion of important issues. At present, the government is in the process of preparing agendas for the first party meeting which is expected to take place next month.

At the recent meet the press session, the Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Tandi Dorji said, the government will include the parties while drafting 2045 vision.

“We talked with the Gross National Happiness Commission. We will now sit together to discuss the issues. Also, we have pledged that we meet biannually,” he said.

At present, Bhutan Democracy Dialogue is one platform for all the political parties to come together.

But the foreign minister said with poor participation from both the government and opposition party, they were not able to discuss other issues.
