Animal bones confiscated

The Gelephu Police confiscated a bag containing animal bones from near the Mao River on the morning of February 21.

Four Indian men who brought the bones fled the scene.  However, the police arrested a Bhutanese man. Police suspect the men were trying to trade the animal bones. The Bhutanese man denied being involved. He said he was just walking along the river bank. The bones were confiscated following a tip-off.

The police have handed over the case to the Royal Manas National Park. The Park Officials suspect the bones to be of the leopard. They said the case will be dealt as per the Forest and Nature Conservation rules and regulations.
