Bhutan’s Under -13 girls’ football team is gearing up for the upcoming U-13 girls’  International tournament. The tournament will be held in Sri Lanka on March 10.

The players were selected from the winter coaching camp, which was held in January this year. The team practise two hours every day at the Changjiji football ground for the tournament. The women’s head coach, Kota Namgay, said only few girls turned up for the selection because of which getting good players was difficult. “Losing or winning is the part of the game. Therefore, participation is more important as this give a platform for the exposure to the players,” he said, adding that they want to maintain quality with limited players.

Most of the players are participating for the first time, so they are excited about the upcoming tournament.

The team will leave on March 7. A total of six countries are participating in the tournament.
