Motor vehicle accident claims a life, Monggar

A 36-year-old man died on the way to Monggar Regional Referral Hospital after he was involved in a motor vehicle accident yesterday.

Man succumbs to injuries about a week after being assaulted, suspects in custody- Gelegphu

A 21-year-old man succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the Gelegphu Central Regional Referral Hospital yesterday, almost a week after he was allegedly assaulted by eight individuals including three females. Gelegphu police brought the unconscious victim to the hospital on the evening of May 24 with a head injury. The victim, a class XII graduate from one of the schools in Gelegphu, was from Serzhong Gewog.

Following COVID-19 protocols in public buses almost impossible

The danger of COVID-19 is closer than ever. Just a few days ago, the country reported its highest single-day new infections of 100 cases. The health ministry has been urging the people to follow COVID-19 protocols at all time, however, many are still not following it. A good example is the crammed city buses in the capital ferrying passengers during peak hours that have little or no space to practice physical distancing.

Enhanced preparedness in Jomotshangkha

As COVID-19 cases continue to increase in Jomotsangkha Dungkhag under Samdrup Jongkhar, the Eastern COVID-19 Task Force has increased its preparedness and response to manage the situation. AstraZeneca vaccine for Bhutanese living abroad

Prime Minister Dr Lotay Tshering said that the government upon the command of His Majesty The King delivered vaccines to Bhutanese living in countries where the AstraZeneca vaccine is approved. This was said in answer to the Member of Parliament (MP) of Chhumig-Ura, Karma Wangchuk's question. During the question hour session of the national assembly yesterday, the MP questioned the status of vaccination among Bhutanese residing abroad. He said many Bhutanese residing abroad still did not receive the vaccine.
