Number of tourists visiting Bhutan decreases

The number of tourists visiting Bhutan saw decrease between 2014-15. While more than 58,000 tourists visited Bhutan in 2014, only around 51,000 visited last year.

Special celebration organised for The Gyalsey

A special celebration was organised at Rongthung Nagtshang in Trashigang to celebrate the birth of His Royal Highness The Gyalsey. The celebration was held for two days.

Pelela to get a marble chorten

The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a chorten at Pelela Pass in Wangdue Phodrang was held on Saturday. Lam Neten, Namgay Wangchuk, who presided over the ceremony, said the chorten was for the wellbeing of the newly born, His Royal Highness The Gyalsey. He said it is also for the members of the Royal Family and the Nation.

Thousands receive blessings from His Holiness

Thousands of devotees gathered at Tashichhodzong in Thimphu to receive blessings from His Holiness the Je Khenpo, today. It was part of three-day Goenpo Tshepamay Drubchen performed for the wellbeing of The Gyalsey, His Majesty the King and The Gyaltsuen.

French artist exhibiting his work in Trashi Yangtse

Coinciding with the birth of His Royal Highness The Gyalsey, an art exhibition was organized in Trashi Yangtse. Olaf Van Cleef, a renounced artist based in Paris, is exhibiting his several paintings embellished with Swarovski crystal and other precious gems.

Maha Puran concludes in Samtse

The 15 days Maha Puran in Samtse, which was a part of the Tendrel ceremony, concluded today. The Priests of the Hindu Community in the Southern Dzongkhags offered prayers and Havaan at the Shivalaya Mandir which was consecrated for The Gyalsey’s birth.

Kanjurs carried round the Samdrup Jongkhar town

The Rabdey, Dzongkhag Administration and Public of Samdrup Jongkhar carried over a hundred of Kanjurs or prayer books around the town for The Gyalsey’s wellbeing. It was also for the wellbeing of His Majesty the King and The Gyaltsuen.

His Majesty gifts two-storied house

His Majesty the King gifted a two-storied house to His Majesty’s Dorjipuen or spiritual sister to mark the birth of His Royal Highness The Gyalsey, yesterday.
