The National Assembly, after accepting the recommendations passed by the National Council, endorsed the Parliamentary Entitlement Amendment Bill 2014, today.

Her Royal Highness Princess Kesang Choden Wangchuck inaugurated the Royal Bhutan Army headquarters, officers’ mess and the transit camp, in the capital today.

The three-day Samtse Tshechu ended today. Scores of devotees, from 15 gewogs of Samtse, had gathered to be part of the religious festivity. The annual tshechu festival is conducted at the Samtse public ground since the dzongkhag does not have a dzong.

His Holiness the Je Khenpo graced the groundbreaking ceremony of the Padtseling Lhakang in Sarpang today. The Lhakang will be built in Dolung-gang in Dekiling Gewog. Padtseling Lhakang is expected to be complete in five years. It is also being constructed to commemorate the 60th birth anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo. Her Majesty the Queen Mother Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck, Her Royal Highness Princess Sonam Dechan Wangchuck and Finance Minister Namgay Dorji were also present.
