The Choetse Rabdey, after completing three months summer retreat in Bumthang, moved to their summer retreat in Trongsa, today. The annual summer and winter migration of Choetse Rabdey started in early 1751. The Choetse Rabdey resides three months every year in Kurjey Lhaghang in Bumthang and nine months in Trongsa Dzong.

Police traces teenage mother who abandoned a newborn

(Update): A 17-year-old girl, who had abandoned a newborn baby girl, has been found. She is undergoing treatment as of now in Lhuentse Hospital.

A newborn baby girl was found abandoned near Tangmochhu under Lhuentse Dzongkhag. The baby was discovered by the cook of Tangmochu Middle Secondary School.

Students learn art of Origami

About 50 children and a handful of teachers from different schools learned the basics of origami, the Japanese art of paper folding at Pelkhil School, yesterday. They were given lessons by an origami expert from Japan.

Kamji Middle Secondary School won this year’s Chhukha dzongkhag inter school taekwondo competition. The three-day tournament concluded on Monday. The school secured 86 points. Pakshikha Middle Secondary School stood second followed by Chhukha Higher Secondary School. The top three schools were awarded trophies and cash prizes. Individual medals and certificates were also given away.
