The People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate of Kanglung-Samkhar-Udzorong Constituency, Norbu Wangchuk, has been reprimanded and warned by the Dzongkhag Election Dispute Settlement Body (DEDSB) in Trashigang. The verdict was passed today.

Newspaper accuses DPT candidate of political ploy

The Bhutanese newspaper has formally lodged a complaint to the Election Commission of Bhutan against the DPT candidate, Kesang Wangdi, from the Khamdang- Ramjar Constituency in Trashi Yangtse. A release issued by The Bhutanese stated that the candidate had made defamatory statements about the newspaper.

Power Tariff expected to increase next month

Power Tariff is expected to increase this July. Two power companies, Druk Green Power Corporation Limited (DGPCL) and Bhutan Power Corporation (BPC), have proposed for a revision to the Bhutan Electricity Authority (BEA).

Four elections related cases dismissed

The Dzongkhag Election Dispute Settlement Body in Trashigang has dismissed four election related complaints submitted by both PDP and DPT. Three complaints were submitted by PDP against DPT and one complaint submitted by DPT against PDP. The complaints were dismissed after both the parties did not submit additional information called by the Election Dispute Settlement Body.
