Gawailing- a home away from home
To recover from the trauma of domestic violence and to provide long term shelter for the victims of the domestic violence, Gawailing – Happy Home was inaugurated today. Her Majesty Gyalyum Sangay Choden Wangchuck and the Indian Ambassasdor to Bhutan VP Haran inaugurated the happy home.

The Education Secretary, Sangay Zam, handed over 20 new buses to 20 different middle and higher secondary schools in 13 Dzongkhags today.
23rd Paro Penlop’s house turned into Heritage farmhouse
The house of Paro Penlop, Dawa Penjor, has been turned into a Heritage farmhouse. It was inaugurated, today. The 18th century farmhouse of the 23rd Paro Penlop will have on display his sword and shield, and other historical and religious artifacts.
Gelephu gets T Bank facilities
T Bank opened its fourth branch office in Gelephu, today. With the opening of the T Bank, all the financial banks have a branch in Gelephu now. People are happy as they have more choices. Seventy five people opened accounts with T Bank on the first day itself.
5 more candidates for BKP
The Bhutan Kuen-Nyam Party (BKP) revealed five more candidates, and two Vice–Presidents, today. The party now has 44 confirmed candidates.
Haa residents object to a mining study
Residents of Haa Thromdey have appealed to their Dzongkhag office to stop the ongoing mining feasibility study at Wang Tsha near Haa town.
His Holiness the Je Khenpo appointed Lam Tshering Penjor, 33, as the new Lam of Sha-Seugang monastery in Wangdiphodrang. Lam Tshering Penjor began his monastic life at the age of 9 and graduated from Tango University when he was 24. He has also completed his three-year retreat. He was formerly a teacher at Seula Shedra.
ECB awards Certificates of Election to NC-elects
The Election Commission of Bhutan has awarded Certificates of Election to 12 National Council-elects.
Patent Certificates awarded to two inventors
Coinciding with the celebration of the World Intellectual Property day, patent certificates were awarded to the first-ever two inventors in the country.
