The fire accident this morning in Yadi in Monggar completely burned down three-storied traditional houses. A two-storied traditional house and a pan shop were also demolished to stop the fire from spreading further. The fire was contained at about 2 PM.
Sources said the fire broke out from the kitchen of a restaurant in one of the three houses. Except for a landlord who reportedly suffered a minor injury during the accident, there was no report of any casualty. However, six tenants and the landlords lost all their belongings to the fire.
Officials from the dzongkhag and the Office of the Gyaltshab in Gyalpozhing visited the site to assess the damages caused and to make necessary arrangements for the victims.
