A validation workshop on Millennium Development Goal (MDG) Acceleration Framework on prevailing youth unemployment was held in the capital, today. The workshop aims to validate bottlenecks, prioritise strategic interventions and reach consensus on the action plan to address youth unemployment in the country.
MDG acceleration framework is an approach and not a development strategy, according to the consultant for the MDG Acceleration Framework, Taimur Khilji.
“So the issue of youth unemployment is acute in urban areas in Bhutan, especially among the urban female youth population.” He said the bottleneck analysis is a process by which they bring various stakeholders to the table. “We look at the intervention, which is potential to be high intervention, in this case to address youth unemployment.”
