The Chief Minister of Indian state of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee arrived in the country, this morning, for a five-day visit, upon the invitation of Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay.
The education minister, Mingbo Dukpa and other senior government officials received the Chief Minister at the Paro International Airport.
During her stay in the country, she will have an audience with His Majesty the King.
She will attend a business conclave jointly organised by the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Indian Chamber of Commerce.
The Chief Minister’s visit is expected to further strengthen cooperation and understanding between Bhutan and West Bengal. She will leave the country on Friday.
